Macclesfield Barnaby Festival

This June, make a date to visit Macclesfield town centre for the biggest Barnaby Festival yet, taking place over four days from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th June 2012.

The Festival theme this year is Midsummer and Barnaby have a whole host of events planned including:

- The Barnaby Carnival with 1000 colourful costumed Maxonian paraders
- Bell-isimo! Bring a bell for the mass ring-in of Barnaby 2012
- The Midsummer Feast with al fresco dining and free entertainment
- Nigel Mead, magician and mind reader to the stars
- John Hegley, chaotic comedy, poetry and music
- Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals orchestral concert for children
- Joscho Stephan the acclaimed master of gypsy jazz guitar
- Laughter Workshops to help you find your funny bone
- Barnaby Art Trail with 40 exhibitions all across town
- The Secret Life of Macclesfield community postcard project
- Riverlands birds and boating with poets Jo Bell & Jo Blake Cave
- An Instinct for Kindness Chris Larner’s one-man, award winning play

Barnaby Teasers, giving people a flavour of things to come, can be found around town in shops and cafes, and at the Visitor Information Centre in Market Place, Macclesfield. Full listings will be available in the Barnaby Brochure coming soon.
