If you fancy something refreshing, Backford Belles Jersey Ice Cream Farm is a must. It's run by mother and daughter, Mary and Ruth Littler and the milk for their award-winning ice cream comes from the family's Jersey cows which you can see grazing in the fields. They make 15 regular flavours, including NW Fine Food award-winning Lemon Meringue and Indulgent Belgian Chocolate, along with seasonal ice creams and sorbets which are made using home grown or locally produced fruit when in season. They also serve tea, coffee, cold drinks and selection of delicious homemade cakes.
