About

Fascinating displays on Roman life and times in Chester, particularly the military occupation. Period House with rooms from the 17th century to the 1920s. Explore ‘hands-on’ the geology and natural history of the area.

Enjoy the beauty of art, and discover the city’s important place in the history of English silver. With an active programme of special exhibitions and events there’s something for everyone at the Grosvenor Museum.

Open 10.30-5 M-S & 1-4 on Sundays. Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day & Boxing Day and NY Day.

Facilities include the conservatory shop. There is no café at the museum but there is a hot and cold drinks machine on the first floor outside the Kings Arms Kitchen.

There are many cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. You are welcome to eat your packed lunch in the Kings Arms Kitchen, however please note there is no disabled access. The Kings Arms Kitchen is used by schools over lunch periods during term time.
