Delamere Forest

Welcome to Delamere, a shady oasis in the midst of the agricultural landscape of the Cheshire Plain.

Delamere Forest is Cheshire's largest area of woodland and is a place for families to let off steam, escape the crowds and find peace in the heart of the forest.

Delamere offers great walking and cycling along with a cafe and Information centre as well as a learning programme for schools visiting the forest. For the more adventurous there is a fantastic Go Ape high ropes trail. Go Ape! is a tree top adventure course of ropes bridges, Tarzan swings and zip slides up to almost 35 feet above the forest floor.

Ideal for friends, families and corporate groups, Go Ape! provides fun, laughter and adventure, as well as an exciting way to explore and enjoy the forest.

To find us from A556, turn opposite the Abbey Arms on to the B5152 (Station road). Whitefield car park is about 2 miles along the road, on the right, past Delamere Caravan site.

There are several car parks which can be used to access the forest as well as a train service operated by Northern Rail which runs between Chester and Manchester.

Delamere is also a haven for wildlife including the beautiful small tortoiseshell butterfly, greater spotted woodpecker, white faced darter dragonfly, green woodpecker, siskin and southern hawker dragonfly.
