Walking

One of the best ways to see Chester and Cheshire is often on foot. Whether you want to explore the city of Chester and its colourful history, or hike along a trail through the Cheshire countryside, there are options aplenty for the walking enthusiast.

Out in the countryside, you can join the Trans Pennine Trail that links the North and Irish Seas together and passes through several towns, villages and cities. You can head to Congleton and Walk the Dane Valley or even take in a quiet part of the coastline of the Dee Estuary on the Wildflowers Walk.

In Chester, why not take the Taste of Chester Walking Tour and sample some local culinary delights along the way, or alternatively find out all there is to know about the history of the city with the Chester Revealed - Walk Talk Tour.

For guided walks in Cheshire and Cheshire walking holidays, Byways Breaks can help you make the most of the Cheshire countryside.
