Horse Riding
Due to its largely rural location, Chester and Cheshire provides some great bridleways and routes for horse riders. In addition, the internationally-renown Chester Racecourse also provides a fantastic opportunity to attend a large race meeting and take in the thrills and spills of professional horse racing.
A day at the races
Dress up for a fun-filled day at Chester Races, where the thrill of the races meets high glamour, attracting both racing fans and fashionistas alike. With race meetings running from May to September every year, the Racecourse provides a great venue for a day-out.
Saddle up
If you prefer being on a horse yourself, then Chester and Cheshire has some great opportunities for you.
There are plenty of bridleways and recommended rides to follow, including the Whitegate Way from Winsford to Cuddington near Delamere Forest and the Salt Line and Merelake Way from Hassall Green to Alsager. Both routes are traffic free.
If you’re looking for something a little faster-paced, how about trying your hand at Polo? There are several Polo clubs in Cheshire, including the Cheshire Polo Club and the Chester Racecourse Polo Club.
Don’t worry if you’ve never ridden a horse before either as Chester and Cheshire has a good choice of riding clubs, including Cheshire Riding School & Hacking Centre and Mow Cop Riding Centre.
