Type: Pubs & Bars

Originally built in the 16th Century and formerly known as The Raven, The Farndon sits in the heart of the picturesque village of Farndon. The village, renowned for it's strawberry fields lies on the Cheshire plain surrounded by open countryside, on the border between England & Wales, giving easy access to both Chester and Wrexham.

It has recently been extensively refurbished throughout with both the pub and restaurant restored to their former glory. The contemporary but modern design creates a welcoming, homely feeling and is enhanced by the warmth from the open log fire and friendly, helpful staff.

Sit where you can feel the warmth from the log fire, lean back and relax into one of our comfy settees, let the cares of the day wash away while we serve you hand pulled cask ales and fine wine.

Take your time to consider the menu of freshly prepared, locally sourced food.

If you become too relaxed our extensive refurbishment includes the addition of 5 luxurious boutique style bedrooms, all en-suite with plasma tv, wi-fi and a proper English breakfast.
These are proving extremely popular as our location provides superb access to Chester & Wrexham for both tourists and business travelers .

Chester offers many many opportunities for the tourist wishing to explore, including it's city walls, Cathedral and rich history, including the oldest racecourse in the UK. Whilst those looking to indulge in a little retail therapy would go a long way to find the quality and range of retail shops found in the unique galleried shops of Chester City Centre or indeed the more recent Cheshire Oaks development which provides a massive choice of designer goods with significant discounts.

When Chester has exhausted you the many attractions of Wrexham & North Wales can be found by crossing the Old Dee Bridge at the bottom of Farndon High Street. The bridge which is centuries old takes you across the River Dee and over the border to beautiful North Wales with all it's attractions.

Finally we mustn't forget our super function room which is available free of charge for parties, celebrations, meetings and conferences and is the venue for our popular events calendar including Live music, murder mystery and sports nights.
