Type: Self-Catering

Warm and comfortable recently converted Grade II Listed coach house on a small working farm with sheep, hens and cows.

Special offers always available for short breaks and off-season stays.

The Coach House is a two-bedroomed barn conversion, offering the modern comfort of under-floor, central heating with features of beamed ceilings and stone floors.

Originally built to house the coach and horses with lofts for the stable boys. During the last century it was converted to milking shippons in the stables and turkeys in the loft.

Features include double bedroom, large captain's bed and sofa bed, avilable for use in either room; bath with shower, cosy underfloor heating, colour television and video, CD/radio/cassette plyers, gas cooker, fridge and microwave.

Bed linen is provided and all beds are made up for your arrival. A washing machine, tumble-dryer, iron, ironing board and freezer are all available for use in the laundry room. There is a patio area with table, chairs and barbecue. The only restrictions are no smoking in the properties and no pets.

The farm is situated in an area of natural beauty with rolling pastures divided into patchwork by the tree-lined hedges and oak woods. The area is ideal for walking with the Macclesfield Canal and it's locks just up the road. The local hill called Bosley Cloud provides views towards Buxton and the Peak District, Stoke on Trent and its famous potteries, the Cheshire plain to Beeston Castle and the Welsh hills and Manchester at the north, all within easy reach. The local towns offer an insight into history, with Macclesfield being a silk town and Buxton a spa town. The area has a wealth of interesting houses to visit including Chatsworth House, Tatton Park, Gawsworth Hall, Little Moreton Hall. Acorn Cottages are ideally situated to explore this part of the kingdom. A warm and friendly welcome will greet you from the Bullock family.

Road Directions

Leave the motorway and head for Congleton. From Congleton town centre follow signs for Buxton A54. After approximately 3 miles you will reach traffic lights on a narrow bridge over the River Dane, carry on along this road under the railway viaduct and the property can be found at the next entrance on the right hand side with a large boulder at the bottom of the drive on a left hand bend.

Public Transport Directions

By rail: Macclesfield - 5 miles. Leave Macclesfield on the A523 to Leek. At Bosley crossroads (where the A523 crosses the A54) turn right to Congleton, over the canal, over an old railway bridge and we are the second farm entrance on the left with a big boulder at the bottom of the drive on a right hand bend.
