A visit to Chester is not complete without visiting the award winning Chester Zoo. With 110 acres of gardens packed with 7,000 animals and over 400 different species, many of which are endangered, the Zoo is a great day out for everyone.
The new 'Realm of the Red Ape' enclosure is a state of the art home for orang-utans, and also contains over 2000 plants and a canopy walk.
Other animals you will see at the Zoo include elephants, jaguars, rhinos and bats - who you can visit in the 'Twilight Zone' - where you share the space with the bats themselves! Staff are always on hand to answer any questions, and of course you mustn't miss the feeding times when you see the animals up close.
The Zoo is a fun and educational first class day out, it is completely wheelchair and pushchair accessible and there is plenty to entertain the kids!
