Chester Driving Trail
• Start your journey at La Cantina, where simple, authentic Italian dishes are served with passion and enthusiasm.
• Continuing on the mediterrean theme, head over to Ciro’s Brasserie in The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa, where head chef Leigh Myers serves modern European food in a romantic Mediterranean-themed dining room.
• Your next stop, the Grosvenor Garden Centre, is just a few minutes down the road. You can stock up on local treats for the kitchen, as well as the garden, in the food department and at the monthly farmers’ market.
• Keeping to the horticultural theme, head to Ness Botanic Gardens, a half-hour drive away on the Wirral peninsula. This fascinating collection of plants was started by Arthur Kilpin Bulley in 1898. After admiring the gardens, take a break at the award-winning homemade fare in the newly acquired Roses Tea Rooms.
• Next, heading back towards Chester, check out Inglewood Manor which is set in a delightful Grade II listed Edwardian country house.
• Finally, cool off at Backford Belles Jersey Icecream Farm, where you can chose from 10 different flavours and a selection of sorbets made using local fruit when in season.
