Book-lovers from near and far flock to revel in the written and spoken word with the historic and atmospheric backdrop of Chester. The Chester Literature Festival successfully combines celebrity guests with local events, aiming to intrigue, inform and entertain with tis programme of thought-provoking talks, readings, theatre, workshops and book signings.

The festival has always attracted literary names of repute. In 2007 David Starkey, Andrew Motion and Julian Clary challenged and inspired. In 2008 the Festival will be in its 20th year and bound to continue in the same exciting tradition.
