About Chester Festivals

The Chester Festivals Partnership (CFP) was set up in 2007 due to need for an umbrella organisation that would be able to guide and manage the strategic growth of the festivals and events sector in Chester.

Chester Festivals Partnership is a new, independent organisation, sponsored by Chester City Council and delivered by a number of agencies in partnership. Our ambition is to create a structure which can support innovation, internationalism and inclusion. The initiative has the full support of all member festivals, of the region's Tourism authority and of both the City and Council councils.

It provides co-ordinated artistic development, sponsorship support and promotion for existing lead festival and event organisers including Chester Music Festival, Chester Literature Festival, Chester Food and Drink Festival, Chester Mystery Plays, Cheshire Year of Gardens 2008 and Chester Performs.

There are four main areas that CFP will focus on through its mission and aims, these are: artistic development of the cultural sector in Chester; raising the reputation of Chester and encouraging buy in from domestic and global markets; the development of the communities through education and participation; and economic development of the city through events and festivals.
Chester Festivals has an executive board and is run by Festivals Development Manager, Rosa Corbishley. It employs a number of consultants in the areas of sponsorship and fundraising and publicity.
